With the fly reel SOON, the French company JMC once again proves that high-quality and functional fly reels do not have to be expensive. This feat is made possible by the chosen construction principle. The blank of this fly reel is made of die-cast aluminium and is then finished using CNC technology.

Thanks to this hybrid construction method, a fly reel with a very modern, light and airy design is created. On the one hand, the generous cut-outs allow the fly line and backing to dry very quickly on this reel, which increases its life span. On the other hand, the minimalist design also contributes to saving unnecessary weight. This makes this fly reel ideally suited to be combined with lighter fly rods, as it optimally balances them.

With its large inner diameter, the large arbor spool of this fly reel prevents the fly line from starting to curl when stored for longer time. This annoying memory effect of lines made of plastic reduces the casting distance, as the friction of the line on the rod rings increases. Moreover, the precision of the presentation of your fly suffers from this.

The reel drag system is first class for a fly reel in this price range. Equipped with drag washers made of steel and carbon fibre, this drag can be adjusted very finely and thus precisely even on thin leaders. Because nothing is more annoying than losing a nice fish due to a broken tippet caused by an incorrectly adjusted reel drag. In addition, the drag system is encapsulated waterproof so that it works reliably and trouble-free under all conditions.

The entire drag system, including the adjusting wheel as well as the spool fixing screw, are in a refreshing blue and contrast clearly from the anthracite-grey anodised reel. This gives the reel an individual and unmistakable aesthetic touch.

The fly reel is available in three different sizes, covering all line classes from #3 to #10. This means that you will always find the right fly reel for virtually every type of fly fishing, every target fish and every condition on the water. Of course, the matching replacement spools are available separately for all reel sizes. The reel can be quickly and easily switched from left-handed to right-handed operation and is delivered in a neoprene reel bag.
