The EQUINOX model belongs to the top reels of the French company JMC mouches de charette. The frame is made of high-density aluminium and triple anodised to protect against corrosion. Considering its size, the reel is extremely light, weighing only 138 grams.
A waterproof encapsulation protects a highly reliable reel drag from dust and sand. The micrometric adjustment and the very smooth start-up allow you to safely drill and land even big fish with thin leaders.
In contrast to classic fly reels that wind up the line directly, i.e., in a ratio of 1:1, the EQUINOX fly reel has a retrieve ratio of 3:1. This means that every turn of the crank corresponds to three turns of the spool, so that you can reel in the fly line much faster.
In addition, the super large arbor (SLA) spool design prevents the annoying memory effect of the fly line, which facilitates long and clean casts. Due to the closed reel cage, even ultra-thin fly lines and monofilament lines remain reliably on the spool, so that this fly reel is also ideally suited for European nymphing.
The EQUINOX is not only an absolutely reliable and high-quality fly reel, but also extremely aesthetically pleasing, as the visible gears make it unique. The spare spools are made of the same material as the reel (sold separately). In addition, it can be converted from left-handed to right-handed operation without any problems.
