SOFT, BRIGHT DUBBING WITH EXCELLENT BUOYANCY PROPERTIES
The ELK HAIR DUBBING is made of very soft elk hair and is manufactured in Italy according to hotfly's specifications. It can be tied on the hook with the split-thread technique as well as with the loop technique. The elk hairs are hollow and therefore give your fly patterns excellent buoyancy. This tying material is therefore particularly suitable for so-called search flies. These are dry flies that are not fished in dead drift but actively. The fact that this dubbing made from elk hair absorbs very little water also contributes to the very good buoyancy. This means you can fish your best flies for a long time before you have to re-grease them or exchange them for new ones.
This dubbing is of course primarily suitable for tying bodies and thorax areas. Its clear colour makes it very visible. This is why it is also best suited for tying tufts that increase the visibility of your flies. But this dubbing can also be used for special applications such as tying the so-called bread fly, which is used very successfully on many carp species.
